Position Summary: A Caregiver is a non-licensed, non-medical member of the Caring Hearts of Dunlap Home Services team who assists the client with the tasks of daily living as outlined in a written care plan that is established by a member of the Agency. Caregivers are supervised by the Team Leaders at the agency and receive scheduling direction from the Scheduling and/or Office Coordinators.
Position Requirements: The Caregiver must have a minimum of five (5) years of work experience which is verifiable through references, and must complete the agency’s employment process. Caring for a family member may be used to meet this requirement. Must be 21 years of age. Must be physically and emotionally able to perform the duties of the position. Must exhibit mature, responsible behavior, and understand the need for patient confidentiality. Must have reliable transportation to and from assignments. Must have the ability to follow a schedule. A smartphone with a data plan is also a requirement for this job because the agency’s scheduling software and the insurance companies require use of a smartphone app to clock in & out on at the client’s home.
Essential Functions: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day. Must practice regular and dependable attendance. Must be able to follow directions and accurately report to the Team Leader or Scheduling Coordinator any change in the client’s condition. Using effective body mechanics must be able to lift 20 lbs. floor to waist; lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder; lift and carry 20 lbs. and push/pull 40 lbs. Must be able to reach above head and get up off the floor without human assistance
